Volleyball had a successful showing at the Bob Jones University Tournament this weekend, going 3-1. Both men's and women's soccer teams fall short with loses.

Women's Volleyball

  • Won 3-2 against Bob Jones University. Tiffany Burkhead fell into her roll as outside hitter and put on a show hitting .271 and leading the team in 24 kills. Adding to that, she also had 13 digs. She was able to consistently mix up her attacks and be a go-to hitter. Never backing down, she had full confidence in her swing, which opened up hitters like Autumn Beasley with 9 kills on a .333 and Jackie Williams with 10 kills hitting .286. 
  • Lost 0-3 against Tennessee Wesleyan. Tiffany Burkhead once again led the team with 39 kills and Autumn Beasley had 12 digs, but it just wasn't enough to stop the competition. TWU had 12 blocks compared to our 5.
  •  Won 3-0 against Dallas Christian College. Tiffany Burkhead had 24 attacks and 12 kills while Marina Dennis had 30 set assists.Tessa Yarbrough led the team with 14 digs.
  • Won 3-1 against Toccoa Falls College. Burkhead continued to be a powerhouse with 13 kills and 36 total attacks and both Tessa Yarbrough and Krizia Cornejo had 17 digs.
  • Coach Jonathan Rose had this to say: "We started out this weekend wanting to set a new tone with our volleyball program. I feel that the girls mentally decided to make a difference. This weekend we played strong, looking to consistently be on the attack. We converted on defense, went on runs, and put up points. It is a great turn for us."

Men's Soccer

Women's Soccer

  • Lost 1-7 to WVU Tech at the Montreat College Tournament. Precious Hester and Mackenzie Stewart had the team's only shots on goal, while WVU Tech had 17 shots on goal as a team. Mackenzie Stewart scored BPC's only goal.
  • Lost 0-4 to University of Cumberlands (KY). BPC had more chances to score, but couldn't capitalize. Kaylee Jones had an impressive 11 saves as goalie.
